Zan Tyler was just a regular, everyday mom in 1984… until the day that she and her husband Joe decided to homeschool their son. She never imagined it would one day lead to a confrontation at the Capitol, hearing herself say:

10 Lessons I Learned on the Way to Jail: How to Stand for Homeschool Freedom
When Zan and Joe Tyler faced jail in 1984 for homeschooling their son, it sparked an eight-year fight for homeschool freedom in SC, followed by 30+ yrs of homeschool advocacy across the nation. Zan shares ten hard-won lessons about freedom, family, and faith—including why freedom isn’t free, who our children belong to, and the importance of passing the principles of liberty on to the next generation of freedom fighters.
