Dear Homeschool Leaders,
Our Leadership Luncheon is an invitation-only event designed to encourage, equip, and build community among those involved in CT* home education leadership. *(or MA/NY border towns)
As leaders, you pour so much of yourselves into serving your groups. Our desire is to come alongside and refill your cup for a change! One of the ways we do that is by inviting experienced Christian home education leaders from around the country, who understand the challenges leaders face, to provide much needed insight, inspiration, and biblically-sound advice to build your leadership toolbox.
We also understand that leadership can be lonely at times, so we provide ample opportunity for fellowship and networking with other leaders, some of whom may be facing some of the same challenges you are. We hope this fosters a stronger sense of community between groups, especially important should we need to come together to protect our hard-won freedoms.
Last but not least, we hope you will leave feeling a little bit pampered - you’ve earned it!
Topics & Discussion Overview:
Group Spotlight: Please prepare to share a 1 minute biography of your group - location, size, focus and perhaps a highlight of the year or area of challenge. Anything which might help us know more about the group you lead and facilitate our interactions throughout the day.
Session #1- SOWING WELL: We all start out with a perfect vision of the group we intend to lead, but somehow, between imperfect people (us included) and very busy lives, things end up not going as smoothly as we hoped. One frustration that we often hear repeated by leaders is “How do I get moms to… Step up? Engage more? Volunteer? Show up? Follow through? If any of this resonates with you, let’s talk. Sheri Payne’s 20+ years of group leadership will help provide insight into developing a leadership team, identifying the group’s “why”, setting policies and clearly communicating expectations with firmness and grace. Sharing of personal experiences as time allows.

Session #2 - LEADING WELL: If we have been called to leadership, there is no getting around that we are called to carry a heavier load. Add to that our own homeschooling and everyday family responsibilities and it is easy to see how leaders can struggle with feelings of discouragement, resentment and loneliness. Yet we are commanded in Gal 6:9 “(You) do not grow weary in well doing.” Like all such imperative commands, God knows that this is impossible in our flesh, but not with his power at work in our hearts. The command is also followed by a promise that we will “reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Sometimes he allows us to see the harvest, but even if it’s not always evident we are likely having much more impact than meets the eye. Sheri will help us to focus on God’s promises as we serve to fulfill his purposes – for our good, for the good of our group, and for his glory.
Who is invited?
