Home Educator’s Capitol Day

Tuesday, March 20, 2018

10 am to 1 pm - Capitol Room 310

We’re Doing It Again!  Come join homeschool families from across the state for a day at Connecticut’s State Capitol during our 2018 CT Home Educator’s Capitol Day event.  Our objective?  To provide a presence, a handshake, and a word of thanks to our legislators, letting them know we appreciate the homeschooling freedom we enjoy in Connecticut!

Don’t miss out on Capitol Day 2018! Take a tour of our beautiful State Capitol, expand your civics knowledge and come out to meet your state representatives. See below for more details.

Held in Capitol Room 310 (not the concourse)

10:00 am - Meet in Capitol Rm 310 for a Homeschool Information Packet and briefing. From there we will head over to the LOB together to distribute packets to legislators. Make an appointment with your representative!

11:30 - 1:00 pm - Lunch Buffet for Legislators*, during which they will have the opportunity to Meet n’ Greet homeschool students/graduates and view displays. Tours of the Capitol will also be available during this time.

*The food provided during the lunch buffet is for Legislators only. All attendees are responsible to provide their own lunch by either bringing or purchasing lunch.

Calling All Homschooled Graduates…or Jr/Sr High Students

We are looking for homeschool graduates and Jr./Sr. High School students who are willing to offer a friendly greeting to legislators and discuss how homeschooling has prepared them for their career, or enabled them freedom to pursue their interests, during the Legislator’s Lunch Buffet. You do not need to stay for the whole lunch (11:30 to 1:00 pm). Any time you can give is appreciated.

We also welcome any displays or performances that demonstrate: Homeschooling is a Success! This is our time to shine. Please email Donna Person at if you are interested in participating.
