Capitol Day

Thank You!

to all who participated in

Capitol Day 2017

On Tuesday, March 21, 2017, families from across the state met at Connecticut’s State Capitol for Home Educator’s Capitol Day.  Our objective?  To provide a presence, a handshake, and a word of thanks to our legislators, letting them know we appreciate the homeschooling freedom we enjoy in Connecticut!

This year we had great participation by both homeschool families and our state legislators. Thank you to Peter Kamakawiwoole, Connecticut’s HSLDA Representative, for spending the day with us. In addition to fun educational activities such as our NEW Capitol Day Scavenger Hunt, attendees had the opportunity to meet with their state representatives, become informed about current political issues, and tour our beautiful State Capitol.

Cookies for the Capitol!
A very special thanks to Chef Jonathan Miller, homeschool graduate and professional caterer, who baked gourmet cookies for our “Cookies for the Capitol” campaign!  In addition to greeting and expressing our thanks, Legislators were presented with a tangible—and yummy—reminder of our visit!

“Thank You” to all who contributed to and attended Capitol Day 2017!

We look forward to seeing you again in 2018!
